Recurring Tasks
Set it once and Demi handles it on autopilot. Recurring tasks run on a schedule you define -- daily briefings, weekly reports, Friday summaries -- so the work gets done without you lifting a finger.

How Recurring Tasks Work
A recurring task is any task that runs automatically on a schedule. You describe what you want done, pick how often it should run, and Demi takes care of the rest. Each time the task fires, Demi creates a fresh execution with the latest data from your connected services.
This is one of the most powerful features in Demi. Instead of remembering to check your calendar every morning or pull your project status every Friday, Demi does it for you and delivers the results straight to your inbox or your wrist.
Creating a Recurring Task
- 1
Describe what you want done
Write a clear description of the task, just like you would for a one-time request. Be specific about which services to use and what the output should look like.
- 2
Set the schedule
Choose how often the task runs -- daily, weekdays only, weekly, or on specific days. Pick the time of day you want it to execute.
- 3
Let Demi handle the rest
Once saved, Demi runs the task automatically at the scheduled time. You will receive the results via email, notification, or both, depending on your preferences.
Example Recurring Tasks
- "Every weekday morning, check my calendar and email me a briefing"
- "Every Monday, pull my Asana tasks and email me a sprint summary"
- "Every Friday afternoon, check Stripe charges and email me a financial summary"
Managing Your Recurring Tasks
The recurring tasks page shows all your scheduled automations in one place. For each task, you can see:
- Next run time -- when the task will fire next
- Last execution -- the result and status of the most recent run
- Firing indicator -- a visual pulse that shows when a task is actively executing right now
Need to pause a recurring task? Toggle it off and it stops running until you turn it back on. Your schedule and settings are preserved -- nothing is lost.
Run On-Demand
You don't have to wait for the next scheduled run. Tap any recurring task to trigger it immediately. This is handy when you need the latest data right now instead of waiting for the next scheduled execution. The on-demand run does not affect the regular schedule -- your next automatic run still fires at the usual time.
AI-Suggested Automations
Demi analyzes your connected integrations and suggests recurring tasks that might be useful. If you have Gmail and Google Calendar connected, Demi might suggest a daily morning briefing. If you use Asana, it might recommend a weekly task digest. These suggestions appear on the recurring tasks page and can be activated with a single tap.
Tip
Start with a daily morning briefing -- it is the most popular recurring task among Demi users. A quick email each morning with your calendar, upcoming deadlines, and anything that needs your attention sets the tone for a productive day.
