Initial Setup
Sign in, tell Demi a bit about yourself, and connect the tools you already use. The whole process takes about five minutes.
Sign In with Your Phone Number
Demi uses your phone number to sign in, so there are no passwords to remember. Open the app and enter your mobile number. You'll receive a one-time verification code via SMS. Type it in, and you're authenticated.
That's it. No email, no password creation, no social logins. Your phone number is your identity, and the one-time code keeps your account secure.
The Personalization Wizard
After you sign in for the first time, Demi walks you through a short personalization wizard. This helps Demi understand how you like to work and communicate, so every interaction feels natural from day one.
- 1
Welcome
A quick intro to what Demi can do for you. No decisions needed here, just a warm hello.
- 2
Communication Style
Choose how Demi talks to you. Prefer short, punchy updates? Or detailed explanations? You'll set your preference on a scale from concise to detailed, and from casual to formal. Demi adapts its tone across every notification, email draft, and summary.
- 3
Autonomy Level
This is where you decide how independently Demi should act. At one end, Demi asks before doing anything sensitive. At the other, Demi takes care of routine actions on its own and only checks in for high-stakes decisions. Most people start somewhere in the middle and adjust over time.
- 4
Work Context
Tell Demi about your professional life: your role, industry, and the kind of tasks you handle day to day. This helps Demi prioritize the right tools and tailor its suggestions.
- 5
Personal Context
Share any personal preferences that help Demi assist you, such as your time zone, preferred working hours, or daily routines you'd like to automate.
- 6
Voice & Writing Style
Demi drafts emails, messages, and summaries on your behalf. Here you can provide a sample of how you write, or describe your tone, so drafts sound like they came from you.
- 7
Complete
Review your selections and confirm. Your profile is saved and Demi is ready to go.
Tip
Don't overthink your answers. You can revisit every one of these settings later from the iPhone app under Settings > Personalization. Demi also learns from your feedback over time, so it keeps getting better the more you use it.
Connect Your First Integration
Demi becomes truly powerful when it can work with the tools you already use. We recommend connecting Gmail and Google Calendar first, since they unlock the most common tasks right away: reading your schedule, drafting emails, and sending summaries.
- 1
Open Integrations
In the iPhone app, go to Settings > Integrations. You'll see a list of available services.
- 2
Choose a service
Tap Gmail or Google Calendar to get started. You'll be taken to a secure sign-in screen where you grant Demi permission to read and act on your behalf.
- 3
Authorize access
Sign in with your Google account and approve the requested permissions. Demi only requests the minimum access it needs, and you can revoke it at any time.
Note
You can connect more integrations later, including Asana, Trello, Notion, and others. Each integration unlocks new capabilities for Demi to handle tasks across your workflow.
