Your First Task

See Demi in action. Give it a real task from your Watch and watch it plan, execute, and deliver results — all in under a minute.

Start a Task from Your Watch

The fastest way to use Demi is right from your wrist. Raise your watch, and you'll see the Demi orb glowing softly on the home screen. One tap is all it takes.

  1. 1

    Tap the orb

Tap the gold Demi orb on your Watch. The orb pulses to show it's listening. Speak your request naturally, like you would to an assistant sitting next to you.

  2. 2

    Say your task

Try something like: "Check my calendar for today and email me a summary." Demi understands natural language, so you don't need a specific format or keywords.

  3. 3

    Demi takes it from here

Your Watch confirms the task and shows a brief status indicator. Behind the scenes, Demi is already working.

What Happens Behind the Scenes

When you give Demi a task, it goes through a structured process to get things done reliably:

  1. 1

    Planning

Demi breaks your request into a series of steps. For the calendar-and-email example, the plan might look like: read today's calendar events, compose a summary email, then send it. Each step has an estimated duration so you know what to expect.

  2. 2

    Execution

Demi works through the plan step by step, using the integrations you've connected. It reads your calendar, collects the event details, and drafts a clean email summary with times, titles, and locations.

  3. 3

    Approval

Before Demi sends anything on your behalf, it pauses and asks for your approval. You'll get a notification on your Watch (and iPhone) with a preview of the email. Review it, then tap Approve to send or Deny to cancel.

Note

Demi always asks before taking sensitive actions like sending emails, creating events, or modifying data. Read-only actions, like checking your calendar, happen automatically without interrupting you.

Understanding the Progress View

While Demi is working, your Watch displays a progress view that keeps you informed without overwhelming you. Here's what you'll see:

  • Steps — Each action in the plan is listed with a status icon: a checkmark for completed, a spinner for in progress, and a circle for pending.
  • Estimated time — Demi shows an estimated completion time for the entire task so you know whether to wait or check back later.
  • Approval needed — When a step requires your sign-off, the progress view highlights it and sends you a tap notification.

You don't need to keep watching the screen. Lower your wrist and go about your day. Demi will tap you when it needs you.

Reviewing the Result

Once the task is complete, Demi marks it as done and you'll feel a gentle haptic tap on your wrist. Raise your watch to see the result summary: what was done, what was sent, and any relevant details.

For the calendar summary example, you'll see confirmation that the email was sent to your inbox with a count of today's events. Open your email to see the full, neatly formatted summary Demi composed for you.

Try the Tool Mode Buttons

Below the orb on your Watch home screen, you'll find tool mode buttons for common task types. These give Demi extra context about what you need, so it can respond faster and more accurately.

  • Calendar — Focus on scheduling: "What's my next meeting?" or "Block off tomorrow afternoon."
  • Tasks — Focus on to-dos and project work: "What's due this week?" or "Add a task to follow up with the design team."
  • Research — Focus on finding information: "Find the latest pricing for Figma Teams" or "Summarize this week's industry news."

Tip

Tool modes are optional shortcuts. You can always just tap the orb and speak freely. Demi is smart enough to figure out which tools to use no matter how you phrase your request.
