Troubleshooting
Running into an issue? Here are quick fixes for the most common problems.
Watch App Not Syncing
If the Watch app shows a loading screen or does not reflect your latest tasks:
- Make sure your iPhone is nearby and connected via Bluetooth.
- Open the Demi iPhone app — the Watch syncs through the phone.
- Check that both apps are updated to the latest version.
- Restart both the Watch app and the iPhone app if the issue persists.
Integration Not Connecting
If a service like Gmail or Google Calendar fails to connect:
- Go to Settings > Integrations and try disconnecting, then reconnecting the service.
- Make sure you are signed into the correct account when authorizing access.
- Check that you approved all requested permissions during the authorization screen. Declining a permission may prevent the integration from working.
- If you see an error during authorization, wait a moment and try again — temporary service issues can cause one-time failures.
Task Stuck or Not Completing
If a task appears to be stuck in progress:
- Check if the task is waiting for your approval. Open the task detail to see if there is a pending approval notification.
- Some tasks require multiple steps and may take a minute or two. The progress view shows what Demi is currently working on.
- If a task has been stuck for several minutes with no progress updates, try creating a new task with the same request.
Voice Not Recognized
If Demi is not picking up your voice commands on the Watch:
- Make sure you are in a reasonably quiet environment. Background noise can interfere with recognition.
- Speak clearly and at a natural pace — you do not need to speak slowly or loudly.
- Check that microphone access is enabled for Demi in your Watch settings.
- Try tapping the Demi orb first to activate listening, then speak your command.
Notifications Not Appearing
If you are not receiving approval requests or task completion notifications:
- Go to your iPhone Settings > Notifications > Demi and make sure notifications are enabled.
- Check that Demi notifications are not set to "Deliver Quietly" — this sends them to the notification center without alerting you.
- On your Watch, ensure Demi notifications are mirrored from your iPhone in the Watch app settings.
Email Drafts Not Sounding Like You
If Demi's email drafts do not match your tone or writing style:
- Visit Settings > Personalization > Voice & Writing Style and provide a sample of how you write.
- The more examples and context you give, the better Demi adapts. A few sentences describing your preferred tone goes a long way.
- Demi also learns from your edits — when you modify a draft before approving it, Demi notes the changes and adjusts future drafts accordingly.
