Approvals on Watch

Demi is powerful, but you are always in charge. Before taking any sensitive action, Demi asks for your explicit permission.

When Approvals Happen

Whenever Demi is about to do something that could have a real-world impact — like sending an email, creating a calendar event, modifying a document, or deleting a file — it pauses and asks for your approval first. This keeps you firmly in control while still letting Demi handle the heavy lifting of research, drafting, and preparation.

Read-only actions, like checking your calendar or searching the web, happen automatically without interruption. Approvals are reserved for actions that change, create, or send something on your behalf.

The Approval Banner

When an approval is needed, a banner slides in at the top of your watch screen. It is designed to be glanceable — you can understand what Demi wants to do and make a decision in seconds.

Action Type

A clear label showing what Demi wants to do, such as Send Email, Create Event, or Delete File.

Preview Details

Key details about the action — the email recipient and subject line, the event title and time, or the file name.

Countdown Timer

A visual timer showing how long you have to respond before the approval expires automatically.

How to Respond

  1. 1

    Approve

Tap the green checkmark to give Demi the go-ahead. The action executes immediately, and Demi continues with the rest of your task. You will see a brief confirmation on screen.

  2. 2

    Deny

Tap the red X to block the action. Demi will skip that step and, when possible, continue with the remaining parts of your task. You can also provide a reason or alternative instruction by tapping the orb after denying.

Approval Expiration

Each approval comes with a countdown timer. If you do not respond before the timer runs out, the approval expires and Demi treats it as a skip — the action will not be taken. This ensures that a forgotten approval does not block your other tasks indefinitely.

You can adjust the default expiration time in your settings if you want more or less time to respond.

Approving from iPhone

If you want to see more detail before making a decision, you can also handle approvals from the Demi iPhone app. The iPhone app shows the full context — complete email drafts, event details with attendee lists, and file previews — so you can review everything before approving. Approving or denying on either device dismisses the request on both.

Auto-Approve

For actions you always want Demi to handle without asking, you can set up auto-approve rules. For example, you might auto-approve calendar event creation but always require approval for sending emails. Configure this in Settings on the iPhone app or the web dashboard.
