What Are Complications?
Complications are small, informational widgets that live directly on your Apple Watch face. By adding a Demi complication, you get a live snapshot of your assistant's activity every time you glance at your wrist. No need to open the app — just look down and you are informed.
Tap any Demi complication to jump straight into the Demi app for more details or to take action.
Available Information
Demi complications can display the following at a glance:
Next Task
Shows the title of your upcoming or currently active task, so you always know what Demi is working on.
Active Jobs
A count of how many jobs Demi is currently executing in the background.
Latest Suggestion
Demi surfaces its most recent suggestion or insight — like a meeting prep reminder or a follow-up nudge.
Pending Approvals
Shows how many actions are waiting for your approval, so you never miss a time-sensitive request.
Supported Styles
Demi supports four complication styles, so it fits naturally on most watch faces:
Circular
A compact round widget showing a single data point, like active job count or pending approvals.
Rectangular
The most detailed option — shows the next task title along with a secondary data point like job count.
Corner
Fits in the corner slots of watch faces like Infograph. Displays an icon with a short data label.
Inline
A single-line text complication that fits in compact horizontal slots, showing a brief status summary.
Best Choice
The rectangular complication shows the most detail and is our recommended pick. It gives you a task title plus secondary info at a glance — perfect for watch faces like Modular or Infograph Modular.
Update Frequency
Demi complications refresh every 15 minutes to keep your information current while preserving battery life. When something important changes — like a new approval coming in or a task completing — the complication updates on the next refresh cycle.
For real-time alerts, Demi also sends push notifications for time-sensitive events like approval requests, so you will never miss something urgent between complication refreshes.
How to Add a Demi Complication

Enter Edit Mode
Long-press on your current watch face until it enters edit mode. You will see the face shrink slightly and a customization interface appear.

Select a Slot
Tap on the complication slot where you want to place Demi. Available slots depend on your watch face — some faces offer circular slots, others rectangular, and some have both.

Find Demi
Scroll through the list of available complications until you find Demi. Select it, and choose which data you want displayed (next task, active jobs, latest suggestion, or pending approvals).

Confirm
Press the Digital Crown to save your changes. Your Demi complication is now live on your watch face and will begin showing data on the next refresh.
